The Difference between Union and Non-Union Work Places:

Union Non-Union
You have a voice in wages – benefits – working conditions Management gives you what they want to give you.
Your wages – benefits – etc. are protected by a legal contract Management can change wages – benefits – etc. – whenever they want.
If you are disciplined – management has to follow steps If you are disciplined – you have no due process rights.
If you are disciplined for something you did not do – the union will defend you! If you are disciplined for something you did not do – you are on your own.
If you do a good job and are in line for a promotion – you WILL get it. Promotions may depend on whether or not the supervisor personally likes you.
You have a voice!!! Management doesn't have to listen to you.
